When a card payment is declined
What your customer can do after a decline, and how to keep card disputes rare.
Sometimes a bank declines a card, or the customer can't finish an identity check.
What the customer sees
Checkout tells them the payment didn't go through and offers Try again with a card, when another attempt is possible, or Pay with crypto instead.
What you see
The payment's timeline records each declined attempt. A payment from a link that fails is final, and the customer can start again from the link. An API payment can be retried on the same payment.
Keeping disputes rare
Describe what customers are buying clearly in the link's name and description, put your refund policy on your site, and add a support email to your profile so customers come to you before their bank. See refunds and disputes.
