Locked out after too many attempts
What happens after too many wrong passwords or two-step codes, and how to get back in.
To stop someone guessing their way in, 402pay pauses sign-in after too many wrong passwords or two-step codes.
Too many wrong passwords
5 failed sign-ins in a row lock that email for 1 minute, and each further 5 lock it for longer, up to 1 hour. A browser you've signed in with before keeps its own count, so someone guessing from elsewhere can't lock you out of it.
After 100 wrong passwords in a row from other browsers, the password stops working in them until it's reset, and we email you. Signing in successfully or resetting your password clears the count.
Too many wrong two-step codes
Five wrong codes in a row lock your codes for 15 minutes, counted across every sign-in, so starting over doesn't help. Wait for the lock to end, then use a fresh code from your app or a recovery code. Check that your phone's clock is set automatically: authenticator codes depend on it.
Still can't get in
Reset your password, or email support@402pay.co from the address you sign in with.
