CoinPayments at a glance
CoinPayments is one of the oldest names in crypto payments, with more than 40 coins. Its own fees page now lists 3% on coin and token payments.
Money is held in a custodial balance and swept to your wallet with a network fee for every payment or every nightly batch. Since July 1, 2026, it no longer serves clients in the EU and EEA, and its new platform asks existing users to pass KYC again.
Why businesses switch from CoinPayments
The reasons businesses give for leaving CoinPayments come back to the same few things: who holds the money, what it costs as sales grow, and which customers can pay at all.
Starting at 3%
CoinPayments' own fees page lists 3% on coins and tokens. On a $1,000 order that's $30; 402pay takes no percentage at all.
Network fees to reach your wallet
Sweeping payments out to your own wallet adds a network fee for every payment, or one for each nightly batch.
Closed to Europe
Since July 1, 2026, CoinPayments no longer serves EU and EEA clients. Their accounts are paused, and balances are held until claimed.
Verify all over again
Its new platform asks existing users to sign up and pass KYC again.
